REstoring REsilience of Mediterranean landscapes to REduce GHG emissions from wildfiresSeptember 2021 - December 2023
The 21st century wildfires will potentially account for an estimated 30% of GHG emissions in the Mediterranean area. One of the main causes of wildfires is inadequate land management leading to accumulation of dry biomass and landscape simplification. The project, funded by EUKI, will promote the reduction of fire-related GHG emissions in three target landscapes in Greece, Montenegro and France.
NATURALLY BUILDING Capacity in Rural DevelopmentMarch 2023 - February 2024
The Dept of Sustainable Agriculture coordinates the Erasmus+ project NBCaRD – NATURALLY BUILDING Capacity in Rural Development, with partners the Greek social cooperative COB, experts in Natural Building (NB); and the Serbian NGO Blatology, civil engineers and architects. The project will use training in NB skills to drive sustainable rural development – in Greece by training NB proponents to meet the increasing demand for bioclimatic buildings, and in Serbia to provide the skills to maintain and improve ancient earthen homes in the Pcinja region. In June 2023 the first training will take place in Larissa.
